I am again asking for your help. I will be walking in the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life, in Wichita, on Friday, June 13, 2008. There will be participants walking for 12 hours to help raise money to assist with cancer research, education and awareness. Megan and I will be part of the opening ceremony and together, she and I will walk the survivor lap with other brave cancer survivors.
Please be assured that the American Cancer Society is a good steward of your money. It was founded in 1913 and is now the largest voluntary health organization in the world. The American Cancer Society is second only to the federal government in total dollars spent on cancer research. Your donation will provide support for lifesaving research and nationwide initiatives.
As you can see, your donation is very important to families like ours. You can help make a difference. Please support me today! If you have any questions, please call me at home, 316-295-4415. Make checks payable to the American Cancer Society and mail to me as soon as you can. Our home address is: 2552 N. Fieldstone St. Andover, KS 67002. You can also make your donation online. Just go to this link:
http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/RelayForLife/RelayForLifeHighPlainsDivision?pg=personal&fr_id=5983&fr_id=5983&px=4567024 click on Donate and fill out the fields required. It’s really simple and takes a lot less time than doing it the old fashioned way! If you choose to make a donation, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt directly from the ACS, soon after the walk. Thank you so much for your generosity. We know times are tight and appreciate any donation large or small.
Please continue to keep Megan and I in your prayers, as we will always be battling cancer. Megan is my strength. She is growing up now and she knows what cancer is. She gets emotional when she hears someone has been diagnosed or has passed away. Her loving heart and incredible empathy for other people is so inspiring to me. She is an amazing kid and God left her here with us for a reason. I can’t wait to see what else He has in store for her.
