What just happened?
It happens every season, and season 7 has proven to be no different. Things are going along just like they should....the correct people are going home, the others are performing and delivering just like we expect them to. We get comfortable with our favorite contestant on the show and know that the rest of America agrees with us. So, we don't vote for them becuase SURELY they're safe. Then, we are blind sided when our favorite (and probably the best in the competition) goes home because they didn't have enough votes. That's what happened to Michael Johns last night. No one expected that, and you're probably lying if you say you did. Most people (not all) probably expected Syesha Mercado to be going home out of the bottom three. It didn't happen. Some others (not this viewer) expected Carly Smithson to be packing her bags. It didn't happen. It was Michael Johns.
Michael will surely be fine and he will have a successful career that mirrors, if not surpasses, that of Chris Daughtry. Until then, you should seek out the music of Michael Johns that is already out there. He was in a band called Film and another band called The Rising. I suggest you seek these out. If you're a fan of Michael Johns, then you will love the music he made with these bands.
So, if you're a fan of anyone on the show, vote for them. It's that easy. Vote several times. Here's hoping for a better, more sensible, outcome next week.
